Academy Award-Winning Actor and Producer Frances McDormand (Fargo, Olive Kitteridge, Almost Famous, Three Billboards) makes asparagus risotto and discusses the creative process fueling her long, badass career. 

Cook along as you listen:

Ingredients:

1 bunch of asparagus
2 big handfuls of chanterelle mushrooms (optional, as they are harder to find)
1 stick of butter
Salt
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 yellow onion, diced
2 cups of short-grained Italian rice (arborio)
3/4 dry white wine
1 cup grated  parmesan
2 tablespoons / 3 sprigs of chopped Thyme
6 cups of chicken stock

Tools:

Stove
Knife
Big Spoon
A slotted spoon
A smallish saucepan
A skillet
Something to mash asparagus - blender or mortar and pestle
Cheese grater
Timer
